Sealing applications exposed to temperatures up to 2000° F fall out of range of polymers, necessitating the need for high temperature seal materials. In 1971, Temper Corporation solved the problem by developing high temperature metal seals for use in the commercial and military aircraft industry. Our high temperature gaskets and seals now serve industries such as oil and gas refinery, power generation, and aerospace for various applications, including but not limited to:

High pressure seals are recommended as an alternative to standard seals in applications where corrosive elements put the longevity of gaskets at risk, where the temperatures are very high or very low, or in environments where a vacuum exists.

High temperature seals and high pressure seals resist leaking, cracking, brittleness, and loss of elasticity that is likely with polymers in these applications. We produce our high temp seals with various materials suitable for a range of applications.  

Types of Metal Seals

We utilize roll forming to create our multi-convolute and machined high temp seals, which are then coated with silver or gold for exceptional gas and fuel sealing performance. They can range in size up to 60+ inches and offer superior spring back up to .010 of an inch after compression, allowing for a tight seal within a component. Temper produces E-ring seals which are used in light load applications where high temperature resistance and flexibility are needed.

Sealing Materials for High-temperature Seals

At Temper Corporation, we offer high temperature seals using superior materials capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1450° F. Inconel provides excellent corrosion, oxidation, and creep resistance, as well as strength under high temperatures. Hastelloy is a nickel-molybdenum alloy that comes in a variety of grades for specific applications. All grades are hard and strong under high temperatures; highly ductile; and easily formed, fabricated, welded, forged, and cold worked.
