Temper Corporation is proud to have sponsored Wilbur H. Lynch Middle School student, Nathaley Edwards, for the National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM, an Envision program for middle school students. The program was held at the University of Texas at Dallas in Dallas, TX during the month of July.
Nathaley was nominated by her teacher, Ms. Anne Walrath, based on her academic potential as well as her interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (the STEM fields). She is an Honor Roll student, maintaining an overall average of 98%. She is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society, the Modified Swim Team and the Modified Track Team. Nathaley regularly volunteers at her local soup kitchen.
During the program, Nathaley was able to develop critical thinking skills while practicing medical techniques. She also received hands-on experience using cutting-edge technology and examining the ethical frontiers of science. Nathaley attended workshops to help her prepare a personalized success plan to help prepare for her academic challenges and future career opportunities.
Temper Corporation recently welcomed Nathaley and her mother to our Fonda, NY facility for a meeting with company President, Cynthia DeKuiper. They also had a facility tour with Director of Engineering, Michael Fish. Mike also showed Nathaley some of the software he uses for designing our products.
