Temper Corporation

Our Team

Meet the people who turn your creative projects into life.
Our Team

Family-owned Temper® Corporation has had quite the journey. The company began in 1969 with John Rode, mechanical engineering entrepreneur and company founder, who was responsible for many of Temper's proprietary product inventions. Expanding over time from the company's original red barn location to our facility in New York, our company now has the capacity to produce over 2 million parts each year for precision assemblies and equipment.

To keep up with this growth and support customers worldwide as an industry leader, we have built a team of specialized manufacturing professionals and engineers who share a desire for continual innovation and quality service. Meet the individuals who are responsible for bringing your projects to life.

Cynthia DeKuiper, Owner

Cynthia Dekuiper is the president and CEO of Temper Corporation. She took up ownership in 2018 when John Rode passed away. Now, Cynthia leads the talented Temper team with a focus on improving company culture by fostering communication between management and staff. It is her ongoing goal to grow the company's reach and service offerings. More recent capability additions include laser machining and local customers' machining work, with continued exploration into part customization to support new business.

In addition to her work at Temper, Cynthia has served as a nurse practitioner since 2000 and still cares for a limited number of patients. She also homeschools six children on the working farm where she lives in Michigan. However, Cynthia travels to Fonda, New York, once a month to stay in close contact with her team, supplementing that time with daily phone and virtual meetings. She holds a Master of Science degree from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University.
